A new season…

This morning was such a beautiful morning! We have a gym in our neighborhood amenity center which is where my morning started. Jim was helping me with my strategy for strength training and I got a really good workout completed. He left the gym and headed to the store, I headed out to the walking trail. As I approached the entry to to the trail, I realized all the beautiful colors I had in front of me. The purple fountain grass, the multiple color of leaves, the golden strands of grass with the sunlight bouncing off everything making the colors alive and vibrant. It was a magical moment. I am certain I saw pixie fairies!

Walking along, I was thinking of all the seasons we go through in life. Whether it be the changing weather, relationships, age, friendships, homes…… we go through new seasons in our lives too!

I am definitely in a new season in my life, and realizing all the changes. This weekend we spent time with new friends, in a new city, settling into our new jobs, new weather patterns, etc. Music is everywhere. I am trying a new workout/health mission. (Wish me luck!) I am learning so much at my new position at work and loving every moment of it. There are so many new things going on and I appreciate and love all of them.

Jim is also going through a new season. He is enjoying projects he “chooses” to accomplish rather than being overwhelmed by the projects he “has” to accomplish. He has changed our towel racks, arranged our garage into a usable space (at least about 75%) and has joined the Nashville grotto. He drives to an office every day rather than working from home and gets to enjoy rush hour traffic also!

Even our cats are going through a new season. Felix has adjusted to his new yard. He doesn’t have 10 acres to roam any more but he goes outside a lot now without supervision and always comes home. Last night we let him out before we went to a neighborhood happy hour. He didn’t come home before we left but we were confident (mostly) that he would be here when we got home. We spent a few hours down the street with some of our new friends (which included a really cool Margarita truck) and when we got home, he was on the back porch waiting for us. Such a good boy!

Our neighborhood Margarita truck!

Shelby, is also changing seasons. Hers is more to do with her age. She is slowing down. She still goes out on the back porch and lays in the sun for a bit. Then she comes back in and goes back to sleep. She snores a lot! She is still sweet as ever though and we love seeing her get into one of her “kitten” moods.

Fall is my favorite time of year. Things slow down a bit and I try to enjoy as much outdoor exploration as I can before old man winter comes. When that happens, I tend to go into almost a hibernation mode. Maybe living in Tennessee will change that. We’ll see.

Winter will likely be a quiet season for me. I don’t like the cold and the lack of color is depressing to me. I think it is Mother Nature’s way of making me slow down.

Through all seasons in life I continue to hold my family and friends close. I appreciate and love each and every one of you !!

And then Spring comes………. 🙂 🙂

Peace everyone! <3
