A New Year, A New Moon, A New Me

I'm really looking forward to 2022! There are so many things I want to accomplish and things I want to learn. 2021 was a good year for me and I started dabbling in a few areas that are important to me.

- My Health - I had a little bit of a scare, thinking there was something going on with my heart. When climbing stairs (or mountains) I have trouble catching my breath and my heart felt like it was going to jump out of my chest. Jim was always patient with me and would stop with me to recover. I had been searching for a functional doctor in Nashville but needed to get my heart checked out also. So at the end of the year, I made an appointment to get my heart checked out and I found a functional doctor that I really liked. I am thankful to say my heart is in great shape and today, I started my 21 day journey to better health. I'm very excited about both and looking forward to my journey.

- My spirituality - Throughout 2021 I have done realized that my spirituality had become extremely important to me. Yoga, podcasts, books, people I met, and things that would just present themselves to me that made me smile and think, "Yep, that's the universe talking to me". I've always been a very spiritual person but so many people scoffed at me, I kind of just buried it in my heart. This past year I unburied it and have been doing more research. I should have never let other people's opinions cloud what I knew in my heart.

- Writing - This ties into both of the above topics plus some others. These are two of the things I want to write about. I want to share things I learn or share parts of my journey. I want to write and write and write! Health and spirituality, travel and sports, hiking and cats....all kinds of things. I know it won't be for everyone but hopefully I can share some good ideas or make someone laugh.

I have an app on my phone called The Pattern. It's kind of a personality/astrology app that it surprisingly accurate. Today it said symbolically, the new moon represents a kid of blank slate and a fresh start. Perfect for the first day of the new year. It also told me that there's an energy encouraging me to let go of the past. It says I might notice a feeling of release, like I'm finally able to move beyond some beliefs that I've been holding on to.

So there we go! Let's see where this new journey takes me. Hopefully to a healthier, more grounded ME!

And most importantly, Shelby made it to 2022!!

Love to all!
