Fun at the Zoo! Nashville, Austria, St. Louis!

St. Louis, MO

When we lived in St. Louis, Jim and I went to the zoo often. We've taken our kids, our grandkids and also gone by ourselves. The St. Louis zoo started in 1920 and has over 14,000 species of animals. Guess what else? It' free! Some of my favorites at the St. Louis zoo are any the tigers, the elephants, the giraffes and the penguins!

Vienna, Austria

While visiting Vienna, we had to visit the zoo that is located within the Schonbrunn Palace. We had visited the palace the day before but we wanted to spend more time there so we made another trip. The Schonbrunn Palace Zoo was founded as an imperial menagerie in 1752 and is the oldest zoo in the world. The zoo was small but we got to see small red pandas and quite a few other animals, including chickens. In 1914 they had the largest amount of animals they ever had. 3,470.

Nashville, TN

Although we've live here since 2019, yesterday was the first time we had visited the zoo. We weren't sure what to expect but we totally enjoyed it. There are not a lot of different animals but the ground are amazing and the animals they do have are great! Giraffes, rhinoceros bird of some sort, kangaroos, flamingos, and pandas. We spent the entire day enjoying the animals and the crowds. Such a beautiful zoo.

I do have to say a little about the kangaroos. We were able to go into an area where we could actually walk around with them. Many of them had joeys in their pouches. One of the joeys came out and had "zoomies". It was hilarious watching him hop around. And our favorite part of the trip... we got to watch two kangaroos duke it out while one of them (the one on the left) had a joey in her pouch. Nature is amazing!

Well that's my zoo knowledge from around the world so far. Peace and love to all!
