Snow in Nashville??

Well here we are in Nashville. Expecting to be out hiking in February. Instead we are pretty much snowbound. Since Sunday we have been dealing with freezing rain, sleet, snow and temperatures below 10 degrees. NOT WHAT I EXPECTED!

Everyone told me Tennessee was in the Southeast so it would be mild. Maybe an inch of snow a year. Ha!

Well, I must confess I have been a little crabby. I have had to work from home this week which is not good for me. I easily get distracted....... " Hi Shelby, do I need to pet you?" "Felix, do you want to go outside?" "Pico, stop trying to eat everyone else's food!" "Jim, look at how cute Shelby is." "Oh, I should probably throw a load of laundry in." You get the point.

Luckily, we have Subarus so we have both been out at least once. Jim went out driving yesterday and I went out today. Some of the roads were fine and some needed a Subaru. Most people were driving safely. I saw some that were being a little "too" cautious. I only saw one vehicle that was stuck. Well, not stuck but just couldn't get up a little incline. It was a pickup truck that just couldn't make it up the small incline. There were about five guys out there trying to help him up.

Did I want to pull up and offer to tow him up the hill in my "little ol' Subaru"? Heck yes. But I didn't . I probably should have but instead I smiled and drove past knowing that his buddies would get him unstuck.

I walked out of the grocery store into a winter wonderland of huge snowflakes. No matter how much I love the fact that Tennessee doesn't have this kind of weather.... I was mesmerized by this exact weather. I drove home through the snowflakes, enjoying every single one. When we moved here, I said I could do without ever seeing snow again. And I meant it. And honestly, I still mean it. But when I see the beauty of a snowflake falling from the sky, it is pure magic and I love it.

However, knowing that Saturday and Sunday the temperatures will be in the 50's ...... well.... that makes me happy.

I love Tennessee. <3
