This weekend my son and his family came to town and we had an amazing time! Jim and I wanted to show the grandkids some of the magic of Tennessee. There are so many fun things to do and see but we decided Waterfalls would definitely show some magic!
Jim chose two parks to visit that were somewhat close to home. We started at Rock Island State Park and the kids immediately fell in love with the place. There were waterfalls and rocks to climb and paths to hike. Water has always been magical to me. It's so powerful and yet so cleansing for my soul. I love the looks of water whether it be a stream, a pond, a river, an ocean or coming out of the side of a mountain in the form of a waterfall. I think my granddaughter feels the same. She wanted to get as close as she could. This is her taking a photo of the first waterfall.

As we were hiking, we met some really nice people. We ran into a group of women that asked if we would like her to take a group photo. Of course we said yes. I have very few photos of us as a group so I absolutely cherish this photo. I believe that woman felt my energy and knew I wanted this photo. She did not hesitate to take my camera and took 6 different shots. Afterward, I saw her cleaning her hands and I also cleaned my hands and later, my camera. COVID-19 is still very much alive but it is nice to know you can be friendly and safe at the same time. Thank you to that woman!

We climbed a lot of rocks, a lot of stairs and the kids were in heaven. We were all pretty tired when we were done so we decided to have our lunches we had packed before we headed out. We had parked in a shady spot so we just sat there in the lot and had a nice lunch.
After lunch we headed to Fall Creek Falls. We went to the largest waterfall first. It was nice but there were just too many people. We continued to the other falls and had an amazing time! We also saw this site from the top view of the fall. If you look really close you can see a woman in the middle of the falls, right at the edge. She was just sitting there enjoying. I would love to be able to do that however, there is no way I would ever have the bravery (or insanity?) to do that. I was so impressed! Kudos to her!

We climbed down to the bottom of the falls and let the kids run around a bit. I think they enjoyed being able to see the majestic views of the waterfalls and then go to the water and be able to touch it.

The day was a huge success. I am blessed to live in such a beautiful state!
