Yet another wonderful week in Tennessee. Working from a building in downtown Nashville is always fun. The craziness starts on Wednesday and continues to get worse (or better depending on how you look at it) as we move toward Friday. This past week we had rain. Did it stop anyone. Not a bit. One of my coworkers and I will normally take a break in the afternoon and go to a room where we can look out on Broadway and the insanity. We are never disappointed. This past week was filled with people enjoying the pedal bars and people walking in the rain without a care in the world. If you are in Nashville, you are there to have a good time no matter what!
Friday I came home to a happy hour in my front drive. What a great way to start a weekend. Although they started without me! Seriously, I am so honored to live in such a wonderful neighborhood with such great people. What a blast!
Saturday was so busy. Jim went caving so I was on my own. I recently committed to starting a yoga practice and found the perfect place here in Mt. Juliet. Unity Yoga. I visited them a week or so ago and immediately felt a good vibe from them. Saturday was my first class. I was hooked. Staci kicked my but and left me wanting more at the same time. She led a "Warm Flow" class that pushed me to my limits and left me feeling like I had truly accomplished a workout as I left. On Sunday, I attended a "Restorative" class that was exactly what needed. I was still sore from Saturday so this was a great way to do some deep stretches and not kill myself. The instructor, Nicki called it "adult naptime". We did about 12 poses in total and they were just really deep stretches. I highly recommend this studio!
I also did a four mile walk on Saturday along the Stones River. Beautiful walk with some really great hills to get your heart beating. The day was beautiful and it was so good to be outside. On my way home I stopped to get some plants to add to our backyard. The cats were all ready to help. I brought Shelby's bed outside (well, one of them) so she could sit outside with me and be comfortable. We got a lot of things planted and replanted and really enjoyed the evening.
Sunday was a "yard work" day. We spent a lot of time in the yard and enjoying our neighbors and neighborhood. Tomorrow we go back to work knowing that we get to come home to a great place ......... and more yoga. Tomorrow is a "Slow Flow" yoga night so hopefully I will live to tell another yoga story!
By the way, today's yoga was focused on the throat chakra. So our intention was based on speaking the truth, speaking your real thoughts, etc. My intention for today's practice was Speaking Kindly, Always. It felt right. So much magic in Tennessee!
Love and peace to all !
